Primary hull in primer

Sprayed primer on the primary hull, needs a little sanding and reprime. a little more detail work to the damaged areas. and then onto the saucer section.

X Wing build (engines)

heres the start of building the engines, i cut some PVC and lathed it out to the desired thickness and cut to fit the wings. need some more PVC rod to start work on the back section of the engines. Also have to shorten the front section, cut them long so as to be able to grab them in the lathe. heres some pics.

Hail fire droid EP 2

Heres another star wars model i decided to build for myself just because. its the hail fire droid from attack of the clones. i think it only had about 8 seconds screen time. but i like the two wheeled design and decided to build one. i only found one good reference photo so i used that for scale and major details. everything else im building it as if its my design. thats the great part about doing this i get to do what ever i want.. the wheels i drew out in auto cad and had laser cut. all the other parts i sculpted in urethane foam by hand. cast the pieces and joined them to the wheels. heres a few pics.

X wing build (work in progress)

Heres the start of a studio scale X wing model im building roughly 2 feet long. i started out by drawing a set of plans in autocad and getting my stations to loft. this project im keeping and i will be doing in between other paying jobs. heres a few pics of what i have so far.

Destroyer Droid (droideka)

Heres a few pics of a destroyer droid i did a while back i had no reference at the time so i just winged it. thinking about doing another now that i have plenty of reference pics. this one stands at about 14 inches high. here she is. this is also 100% scratch built.

Pl enterprise

Got some more done on this build. still need to start the saucer section, and also get some more photo etched parts for the saucer and primary hull. here i started filling seams and adding some detail to the damaged areas

Enterprise blown up (STIII)

Heres another build, this time a Polar Lights Refit. blown up to look like the one in star trek 3. i dont normally build kit models but this started out as a fun past time because ive never seen any one build one, so i decided to do it. about a month into the build i got an offer for it, so now im going to finish it up and send it on its way.

welcome to my studio scale scratch built model page.

Today is April 2o 2008. and its my first post of my new blog. i would like this place to be a spot where i can show off my builds. get feedback, and possibly get more work from people seeing what i can do. as the days go by i will post some pics of the current builds i am working on. any questions comments feel free to e mail me.
